Avery has been bugging me to make a bird house for the last week so I decided that Saturday we would make a quick one. Well, we spent all day Saturday cutting, sanding, and building "the perfect bird house". We made it out of solid Maple. Brandon cut it out using my dad's table saw. I only got scared when he turned the blade at a 45 degree angle and cut the roof pieces. I sent my Dad out to check on him a few times. He did a great job though and still has all his fingers. Brandon then measured and marked where each screw hole would be placed so that each one was the same distance from top and bottom. Then we made sure all the screw holes were filled and sanded, so that you wouldn't be able to see them. After it had been sanded again it looked awesome.
Then today we let the kids paint it................
You can tell what color Mason Likes!
We just hope that when we put it outside there is at least one bird that isn't afraid of it.

Avery made sure it was a girl bird house.
She actually stayed and painted the whole time. She was the last one painting.
She usually gets board after a few minutes of anything.

We had to talk Mason into finishing his side.

I couldn't leave this pic. out. Mason wears his rain boots or cowboy boots now almost every day. It is now a regular thing to see him in pjs and boots, underwear and boots, or just boots and his shirt.
