California

We took our first trip to California as a family and a first time visit to Disneyland for the kids!
Everyone was really excited and having tons of fun, I thought. Half way through the day Mason started to cry and yell, "This is not Disneyland! There are not any toys here!" So, we took him on the Buzz Light Year ride where you get to shoot Buzz guns. He thought that was really fun and after the Pixar parade he was pretty happy to be there.

The second day at Disneyland the girls and I did the Princess thing.

First time at the beach for the kids! Mason wanted to surf with dad, Avery wanted to play in the sand, and Taylor wanted to eat the sand!

Birthday Fun

We just had a very small pizza and cake Party for Taylor.
I threw it together in about 2 hr.s with whatever I had. Avery volunteered her princess crown, her rubber duckie from Christmas became a cake topper, I didn't even bother with an outfit, and had Jamie pick up pizza on her way over. Avery kept asking where all the presents were and why we didn't buy any, but Taylor didn't seem to mind. She was happy with it all.

Make a Wish!

Avery, Mason, and Taylor all Love the new books!

Thank-you Grandma, Grandpa, and Celeste.
You are the best! Taylor loved the card.
She didn't want to let go of it to open the presents.

For The Birds...

Avery has been bugging me to make a bird house for the last week so I decided that Saturday we would make a quick one. Well, we spent all day Saturday cutting, sanding, and building "the perfect bird house". We made it out of solid Maple. Brandon cut it out using my dad's table saw. I only got scared when he turned the blade at a 45 degree angle and cut the roof pieces. I sent my Dad out to check on him a few times. He did a great job though and still has all his fingers. Brandon then measured and marked where each screw hole would be placed so that each one was the same distance from top and bottom. Then we made sure all the screw holes were filled and sanded, so that you wouldn't be able to see them. After it had been sanded again it looked awesome.
Then today we let the kids paint it................
You can tell what color Mason Likes!
We just hope that when we put it outside there is at least one bird that isn't afraid of it.

Avery made sure it was a girl bird house.
She actually stayed and painted the whole time. She was the last one painting.
She usually gets board after a few minutes of anything.

We had to talk Mason into finishing his side.

I couldn't leave this pic. out. Mason wears his rain boots or cowboy boots now almost every day. It is now a regular thing to see him in pjs and boots, underwear and boots, or just boots and his shirt.

Bubbles

Taylor just got over being sick on Friday and Tuesday morning she woke up with a cough and runny nose again. I was not going to go through 2 more weeks of sick kids, so I decided to sterilize toys, change beds , clean floors , etc. Mason and Avery were great helpers. I guess they needed to be sterilized too.
